The Society was founded in 1987 to promote all aspects of amateur microscopy.

We believe that we are the only Microscopical Society in the Westcountry.

Regular meetings are held at our H.Q. at Chacewater Village Hall, where prospective new members and visitors, including children are always welcome. The complete spectrum, from beginners to experts, are catered for.

A glance at our Syllabus will give some idea of the range of our activities, these include:

Lectures on specific subjects

Laboratory work

Demonstrations

Visits to other Societies

Field meetings

Tuition & advice for beginners.

Annual subscriptions for 2010 are:

Membership £15

Family Membership £22-50

Junior £5

Full membership is by election, so you must attend a meeting or two.

Junior Membership is available on payment of a subscription only.

There is a reduced combined subscription for Family Members.

No subscriptions are required from visitors, so come and see what we do. We believe that you will be pleasantly surprised, and you get a cup of tea too.
